Hi, this is Dr. Rob and I’m here to talk about sunscreen products since summer’s coming up.
Did you know that sun screen products promote cancer by blocking your body’s absorption of ultraviolet radiation, therefore, blocking the production of vitamin D in your skin? Studies show that vitamin D can prevent as many as 77 types of cancers.
50,000 deaths per year are caused by lack of sun light. In addition, most skin care lotions also contain cancer causing chemicals.
What’s interesting is that a portion of the profits from the sales of these lotions is then donated to organizations such as the American Cancer Society, which in turn, runs public service ads to encourage the use of sunscreens.
Proper nutrition is a better way to prevent sunburn than sun screen lotion. You can boost your internal sunscreen by eating foods, such as: whole foods, vegetables, fruits, Goli berries (not juice), raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, micro algae, spiralina, chlorella, and blue-green algae. These foods are all natural resistant to sun burn as well as preventing radiation damage to the eye and the optic nerve.
Basically, we need to look for other ways to protect ourselves from ultra-violet rays, because we need the sun, in moderate amounts, to produce vitamin D to keep our bodies healthy and fit.
Have a good week!
