How Your Body Works
How your body works:
Your brain controls all the body parts, by sending electrical chemical messages through the spinal cord and nerves to all of your organ systems of your body. These electrical chemical messages are necessary to keep your body in balance/healthy and feeling great.
Most people have 24 spinal bones (called vertebrae) that wraps around your spinal cord. These spinal bones are like a suit of armor providing protection to your delicate spinal cord. If one or more of your spinal bones become misaligned (called vertebral subluxation), it will cause the nerve going through the spinal bones to become pinched. The misaligned spinal bone pinched off it interferes with messages from your brain to your body part creating imbalance (pain and other health problems).
At Bates Chiropractic, Sport & Spine Chiropractic and Physical Medicine, we use the Zone Technique to read those signals. The Zone Technique looks at your body as six zones. Each zone is a team of organs and body functions that work together. And each zone is tied to a set of spinal levels along your neck and back. When a zone is out of balance, the spinal levels for that zone show us where to look.
The six zones of your body
Every cell in your body, every system in your body, is under the influence of one or more zones.

How our specific Chiropractic care impacts your body.
Locating the spinal and imbalances and correcting spinal imbalances which results in the elimination of the pain and your health problem.
Here is what that means in plain language. We check the spinal levels tied to each zone. When we find the level that is out of balance, we make a specific, gentle adjustment there. This helps take the pressure off the nerve so the messages from your brain can reach that zone again. When the messages flow the way they should, your body is better able to heal itself and stay in balance.
The Zone Technique is one of the specialized techniques we use at Bates Chiropractic, Sport & Spine Chiropractic and Physical Medicine. If you have a health problem that keeps coming back, ask us which zone it belongs to.
