This week I want to talk about a patient that came in a couple years ago. This particular patient was a monk from China; she came in with the traditional Chinese robe and her head shaved. The reason she came in was because she heard getting adjusted was great for your health. She mentioned, “You’re as old as your spine”, which is something we talk about all the time.
We went ahead and checked her spine, found out she had a subluxation, we adjusted her, and her eyes lit up. She gave me a big smile and thanked me for the adjustment.
On the way out she told me about her world travels, how she went to a Children’s Home in Calcutta, India. This children’s home was run by The Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Teresa
On the wall in the Children’s Home was a story. She had the story written on a loose piece of paper in a book she gave me. It read:
People are unreasonable, illogical, and self centered,
Love them anyway!
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives,
Do good anyway!
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies,
Succeed anyway!
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow,
Do good anyway!
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable,
Be honest and frank anyway!
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight,
Build anyway!
People really need help but may attack you if you help them,
Help people anyway!
Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth,
Give the world the best you have anyway!
I just wanted to bring this up, being that it is Thanksgiving week. Happy Thanksgiving.
I am thankful for you choosing our office.
